A Dear Saint Lost-The Obituary of Timothy Thornton

Here is the extended version of my father’s obituary. Love you Dad, will be seeing you when you come back with our lord, or when I come to be with you.

In Loving Memory of Timothy Wayne Thornton

Timothy Wayne Thornton, born September 6, 1959 in La Puente, CA, suddenly went to be with his Lord, on December 22, 2009. He was preceded in death his previous wife, Carilyn Thornton, his father, James Thornton, his mother, Margaret Thornton, and his brother Dale Thornton. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sheila Thornton, his son, Aaron Thornton, and his daughters, Rebecca Thornton, Jennifer Stanley, and Christie Stanley, all local. He had one granddaughter, Rachael, whom he adored. Also left behind a new daughter-in-law, Amy Thornton, mother-in-law, Lilly Cotton of Colorado, and father-in-law Marvin Swengel. Brothers left behind include John Waid, and wife Sheila, of Las Vegas , and brothers-in-laws Richard, Michael, and Mark Swengel. Sisters left behind include Nancy Ghan, of Prescott, Arizona, Ann Swengel, and husband Monty, and Shirley Fisher, and husband Tom, of Oklahoma. Also left behind are nephews Denny Ghan, Danny Ghan, Chris Swengel, Billy Swengel, Jamie Waid, and respective wives. His nieces are Denise Beuchat, Glenda Fisher, and Stephanie Fisher, and respective husbands. He had many other relatives, however just as important to him was his extended church family, which number many.

Tim’s profession of choice was as a carpenter, he spend his life building both homes and people. Tim also was a willing servant of his Lord, Jesus Christ. His legacy as a man of faith already extends multiple generations and will continue on until he returns with his Lord, his rewards in heaven will be great. Tim was known to always have a smile and a corny joke, and was willing to do anything for anyone he could. His love for if fellow man can never be measured. He will be missed by many.
